How we play
At Checkpoint, CS2 sessions are about playing as a team. We queue into matchmaking together, coordinate on comms, and focus on having fun over sweating ranks. Whether you've played CS for years or you're trying it for the first time, you're welcome in the lobby. Experienced members are happy to run through the basics - economy, utility, positioning - before we jump in.
Most rounds are played as Terrorists vs Counter-Terrorists across classic bomb defusal maps. Terrorists plant the bomb; Counter-Terrorists defuse it. Each round is short and sharp, which makes it easy to pick up and step away from, and keeps the session moving. We rotate roles, swap sides at halftime, and keep the chat lively throughout.
Getting started with CS2
Counter-Strike 2 is free on Steam - no purchase required. Download it, set your sensitivity, and you're ready. We recommend spending a few minutes in deathmatch to warm up before jumping into a real match, especially if it's your first time. The time-to-kill is low, so positioning and pre-aiming matter more than raw aim speed.
If you've never played CS before, don't stress about it. The game has a learning curve, but the core idea is simple: communicate, work together, and don't peek corners alone. We'll walk you through any callouts and strategies before each match so nobody feels lost.
